The Cyprus Department of Meteorology issued on Tuesday a yellow weather warning, saying that “extreme high temperature” was expected on Wednesday.

It added that the warning will be in place from 11:00 until 16:00 local time.

“The maximum temperature is expected to reach around 40 degrees inland”, the Department of Meteorology noted.

It urged the public to “be aware that high temperatures are expected. Some health risks amongst vulnerable people e.g. the elderly and very young are possible”, it stressed.
