Womens football is progressing at a very fast rate, so much that you have teams like Apollon playing UEFA football.
In Cyprus they have a womens football League that was formed in season 1998/99 and the winning team qualifies for a spot in the UEFA Champions League.
Also the prestigious Cyprus Womens Cup takes place in Cyprus annually and consists of national teams taking part such as England, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Scotland, Switzerland, Czech Republic and Switzerland and the progression goes on..
Cyprus will be taking part in the UEFA Womens EURO 2021 with the finals taking place in England. Cyprus are now looking to recruit UK Cypriot footballers to take part in the tournament . The next group stage game will take place August 2019 but before then there will be friendly matches to prepare for the Euros.
