In its last match of the championship, AEK Larnaca defeated Omonia by 2-1,to end the season second with 70 points, qualifying for the Europa Championship play offs. Omonia had taken the lead in the 53rd minute through Montes and AEK scored two goals late in the game Giannou 72nd minute and Aquino in the 86th minute.
Apollon lost to Nea Salamina 2-1 ending the season third with 58 points, Nea Salamina took the lead with Eloundou in the 25th minute and Schembri equalised in the 68th minute and Chrysostomou scored for Salamina in added time. While Ermis Aradippou and Alki Oroklini were relegated to the second division with Ethnikos Achnas and Olympiakos Nicosia returning to the 1st division.
In the first division, the match APOEL-AEL ended 4-0, Apoel’s goals coming from Bezjak 2, Aloneftis and Balogh.
APOEL has qualified for the Champions League play offs as it tops the 1st division with 70 points and AEK and Apollon for the Europa League.
The League will wrap up on Wednesday with the Cypriot Cup Final between APOEL and AEL at the GSP Stadium at 1900 local time. The first division will resume on 24-25 August 2019.
