Zenon  Kyriaco Mouskas sadly passes away

Zenon Mouskas  sadly passed away last Monday 22nd of April 2019 at the age of 77 and leaves behind his wife Helen, daughter Zela and son Kyriacos and grandchildren, sister Gloria and brother George.

Zenon was born in London 2nd August 1941, his father Kyriacos from Famagusta and mother Zela from Nicosia. He attended Crest Nursery School , Wessex Gardens Primary School and Clarks College Grammar School.

Zenon followed his father in the shipping industry who was the first Greek Cypriot ship owner and he helped co found the well known shipping company Zela Shipping to later be joined by his brother George.

He married Helen Pittas from London whose parents were from Dhali and Larnaca, her father Theodosis was the owner of Pittas Pastries.

Zenon was well known and popular within our community he was a Trustee and Council member of the Church of the Holy Cross & St Michael, Golders Green he worked tirelessly for the community there for 35 years. He was a member of the Greek Shipping Co-operation Committee, Baltic Exchange and Lloyds of London. He was a main board director at the Baltic Exchange during its most troublesome time when the IRA bomb was planted there.

He was also an avid QPR football fan.

The funeral was held on Thursday 25th April 2019  at St Kosmas in Ayios Athanassis, Limassol, Cyprus.

    Our dearest Helen,

    have just found out, the shocking and sad news of our dear old friend Zenon’s passing.

    We often remarked in the last year,that Zenon had not replied to some of our emails, and xmas greetings , but thought that he probably was as usual, busy with family, business etc..
    Christina and I are are so, so, very sorry and saddened by this news, and understand what the loss of Zenon a ,wonderful and loving husband ,brother, father grandad, means to you all.
    He was a lovely man,a true gentleman and we treasure the times we shared with you all.
    We loved him.
