Detectives from Trident and Area Crime Command are investigating a shooting in Wandsworth that has left a 16-year-old boy with serious injuries.

Police were called at 21:53hrs on Thursday, 18 April to reports of shots fired at Burfield Close, Wimbledon Road, SW17.

Officers attended. At the scene there was no trace of the suspects or any injured persons.

At 22:06hrs, police were called by London Ambulance Service to a residential address at Blackshaw Road, Tooting, where a 16-year-old boy was suffering from a gunshot wound.

The injured male was taken by London Ambulance Service to a west London hospital where he remains in a serious condition.

His family has been notified. We await further updates.

At this early stage there have been no arrests. Enquiries continue.
