In the Cyprus Championship play offs  AEK are back in with a chance of the title after beating Apoel 1-0 ,  and Apollon dropping points by drawing 1-1 with their Limassol rivals AEL.

Apoel have not been at all lucky with AEK in fact they have not beaten them at all this season. AEK who were down to ten men in the last half hour when Acoran was sent off in the 61st minute and AEK scored in  the 66th minute with Gonzales and from there they held out to win the game 1-0.

Apollon knew they were in for a tough match in the Limassol derby and it definitely was AEL took the lead in the 19th minute with Gaztanaga and went   into the break still leading . The second half was more exciting when in the 53rd minute Aganovic of AEK was sent off after receiving two yellow cards.  Apollon piled the pressure and it was game on in 72nd minute when Yuste scored an equaliser for Apollon.

In the other games Anorthosis drew with Enosis Neon Paralimniou 2 but were 2-1 down to Paralimni and scored a late equaloiser to draw 2-2. Anorthosis both goals came from Rayo and both goals from Pittas for Enosis Neon Paralimniou.

Pafos are safe after beating Doxa Katokopias 3-2 with the Pafos goals coming from Cools in the 18th and 28th minute, Doxa fought back with goals in the 16th and 67th minute from Papafotis and Boljevik in the 65th minute and Nemec scored the winner in the 76th minute to give Pafos the three points.

Alki Oroklini struggled to beat already relegated Ermis Aradippou after going into the break 0-0 and Ermis down to ten after Pounnas got sent off in the 39th minute.

Alki took the lead in the 53rd minute with Konstantinou and Ermis equalised in the 63rd minute with Fylaktou and Trajchevski scored the winner for Alki in the 86th minute.

This now leaves  Doxa Katokopias , Alki Oroklini and Enosis Neon Paralimniou battling between themselves to save themselves from getting relegated with already doomed  Ermis Aradippou.

Monday’s Nea Salamina versus Omonia match turned out to be a seven goal thriller. Nea Salamina led 1-0 then Omonia were winning 2-1 but the Reds’s recovered to win 5-2. Nea Salamina goals came from Margaca, Eloundou, Thiago, Correia and Onuegbu and Omonia’s Mavrias and Kolovos.
