Barnet became just the second side so far this season to pick up a clean sheet at Salford after a hard earned point in a 0-0 draw at the Peninsula Stadium.

Dan Sparkes had an effort blocked early on before the home side hit the frame of the goal twice in a matter of minutes. A long throw from Liam Hogan found Devonte Redmond, who curled the ball towards the goal but was denied by a post, before Lois Maynard also struck the crossbar with a volley.

A fingertip save by Salford’s Chris Neal prevented Shaq Coulthirst from giving Barnet the lead with an edge-of-the-box strike.

Substitute Rory Gaffney had the ball in the net for Salford in the 70th minute but the referee had blown the whistle for a handball by Mani Dieseruvwe before the striker had put the ball across the line.
