Edmonton based Platinum Performing Arts has been awarded 5 years funding from the National Lottery Community Funding to deliver its “Power to Make a Change” programme to the young people living in Enfield.

The “Power to make a Change” programme aims to prevent and create awareness of knife, gun, gang crime, social and health issues within the borough, a reality that our young people face on a daily basis.

It will capture the young people’s thoughts, feelings and experiences and give them a voice. This will be transformed into a professional urban narration dance theatre production for the young people by the young people. It will also be filmed as a documentary, to follow the 5 year journey showing the progress and positive outcomes achieved within the programme.

The arts school aims to work closely with various organisations including all the schools in Enfield to deliver the programme, as well as with voluntary and statutory services within Enfield including Enfield Council and the Metropolitan police.

Platinum Performing Arts is an organisation passionate and driven to improve the lives of young people and strongly believes that young people have the “power to make a change”.
