Abel Rop Kibet and Ruth Matebo Chemisto both from Kenya, won the Limassol Marathon GSO, which this year saw a record number of participants.
 
The Marathon took place on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th March and for the third consecutive year the winners, both in men and women, were from Kenya.
 
Rop Kibet won the men`s race in 2:17:40 achieving the third best performance of all time in the Limassol Marathon and Ruth Matebo Chemisto won the women’s race in 2:43:28.

Cypriot Charalambos Ioannou finisted in third place (+20:24`) behind Jordan`s Ahmad Muhaisen (+20:14`).
 
Some 15,000 runners took part in the 13thLimassol Marathon, marking a record number of participants.
 
Four out of the six races of the Marathon, that is the Marathon Race, Half Marathon Race, Petrolina 10K Energy Race, 5K City Race took place on Sunday. Over 10,000 runners took part in the PrimeTel 5K Corporate Race and the Andrey & Julia Dashin’s Foundation Youth Race on Saturday.
