Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire at a house converted into flats on Park Lane in Tottenham.

A two roomed flat on the first floor was completely destroyed by fire and part of a pitched roof.

Crews assisted one man to safety by from a first floor balcony at the rear of the property. He was treated on scene for smoke inhalation and was taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service crews.

The Brigade was called at 0803 and the incident was over by 1009. Fire crews from Tottenham and Edmonton fire stations were at the scene.
