It is interested to note that St. Panteleimon FC received a communication from Tom Lee, National Leagues and Clubs Operations Manager | The FA Group, which states:

“Congratulations – St. Panteleimon FC is among the country’s best. Thank you for completing your club’s annual health check. We’re delighted you have chosen to continue to deliver the highest standard of football (FA Charter Standard). Keep up the fantastic work”.

“Saints” keep up the pace and performance

Middlesex County Football League – Premier Division

Hillingdon FC 0 – St Panteleimon FC 3

(Massay, Monti, Tajbakhsh)

The “Saints” travelled to Brunel University Sports Centre in Uxbridge, for an away fixture against Hillingdon FC.

A very windy and dark day made the conditions tough for both teams. The ball was carrying and hanging, and ensuring the team with resilience and energy made it count.

The “Saints” looked sharp early on, with fast passing moves, but the finishing was not there.

They took the lead though with a strong finish from Courtney Massay.  0-1. And that’s how it finished at half time.

Some strong performances today from Aristotelli Nasai (MoM) and Michael Frangeskou, gave the Saints a strong spine, but the conditions made it tough to capitalise.

On 60 minutes Guilherme Monti scored after some persistent play and first time passing, to ease the nerves, making it 0-2.  Then three minutes later the game was sealed by Noyan Tajbakhsh with a smooth finish. Noyan is at present the top scorer in the League, with 18 goals in 14 games!

St Panteleimon are six points ahead on top of the League with two games in hand.

As well as scoring consistently, with 69 goals in 17 games, it is the defence that is the bedrock, the ballast, the foundation of the team. Only 15 goals conceded this season marks this team as exceptionally organised. The next best defensive record in the league has -23 goals against them.

We look forward to next week’s Semi-Final of the Alec Smith League Cup against Pitshanger Dynamo FC. The “Saints” are at home.
