2019 Eurovision hopeful Tamta kicked off her first Eurovision rehearsals with Sacha Jean Bapstiste and choreographer Chali Jennings in Athens last week.

The Georgian born Greek star will be accompanied on stage by four male dancers as she performs this year’s entry for Cyprus, Replay, in Tel Aviv in May

Cypriot national broadcaster, CyBC, and the singer’s entourage, are said to be working around the clock in order to showcase an outstanding performance.

Tamta first attempted to partake in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2007 when she competed in the Greek national final with her entry With Love. She tried again in 2015 but was unable to compete in the Greek national final as she reportedly missed the submission deadline with Alex Papaconstantinou’s Unloved.

The singer was selected via an  HYPERLINK “http://esctoday.com/170084/cyprus-its-tamta-and-replay-to-tel-aviv/” \t “_blank” internal selection in order to fly the Cypriot flag at this year’s contest. Her entry has been composed once again by Alex P.

Cyprus joined the Eurovision Song Contest in 1981 with the group Island, achieving an honorable 6th placing in Dublin.

Our island has been represented by the likes of Anna Vissi, Michalis Hatzigiannis, Evridiki, Sarbel, Ivi Adamou, Despina Olympiou, and achieved its best Eurovision result last year, when it placed 2nd with Eleni Foureira’s Fuego.

Cyprus is set to compete in the first semi-final heat on 14 May.
