A total of 3,500 runners will participate in the 21st Logicom Cyprus Marathon that will take place in the coastal town of Pafos on Sunday.

A press release took place on Wednesday by the organisers, who said that this year`s Pafos Marathon has exceeded every expectation with a record number of 3,500 participations, 1,700 of which are foreigners from 50 countries.

Last year`s marathon attracted 2,900 runners.

For the fourth consecutive year, the marathon is dedicated to the legendary marathon runner Stelios Kyriakides, born in Pafos in 1910, winner of the 50th Marathon of Boston in 1946.

Races include a marathon, a half marathon, a 10km road race, a 5km fun run as well as for the first time a Cyprus Wine Run.

The Logicom Cyprus Marathon starts at Aphrodite’s Birthplace (Goddess of Love and Beauty) and follows a coastal route along the Mediterranean sea. The picturesque finish line (and start line of the other races) is the Pafos Medieval Fort Square right next to the beautiful Pafos Harbour.
