Police are appealing for information following a stabbing aboard a bus in Barnet.

At 16:41hrs on Saturday, 9 March, police were called to reports of a stabbing in Colney Hatch Lane, Muswell Hill.

Police and London Ambulance Service attended.

At the scene, a 19-year-old man had suffered a stab wound to the chest while aboard a route 134 bus. 

The injured male was taken to an east London hospital by Air Ambulance where his condition remains critical, but stable.

Police have arrested a 17-year-old male on suspicion of attempted murder. He was taken to an east London police station where he remains in custody pending further enquiries. 

Detective Sergeant Jon Deans investigating said: “There is a young man in hospital in a very serious condition and we are working hard to establish how he came to be attacked.

“Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information is asked to call detectives at the North West Command Unit on 101 quoting reference 5259/9MAR, Tweet @MetCC, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
