As someone who lived through and was affected by Margaret Thatcher and the way she decimated massive swathes of this country, I have spent years convinced that she presided over the cruellest, most insensitive government I was likely to see in my lifetime. However, Theresa May has proved me wrong. This current Tory government make Thatcher look like Mother Theresa’s caring sister. Well it is really a nightmare that never seems to come to an end.

This Tory government is in a mess and has plunged the UK into a bigger mess. Since 2010, we have witnessed food banks quadrupling, with 2 million people now using them on a daily basis to feed themselves. One million children now live below the poverty line and our front line services have been cut to the bone.

To add insult to injury, the cherry on top of the cake is Brexit of course. The Tories, or rather Theresa May, have poorly handled this matter much to the concern to all of us. I have used the word “poorly” but in reality, this is an unforgivable and very unprofessional way to deal with such a serious issue for the country. But Theresa May, although the star of all this ‘Hammer of House Horror’ (those old enough will remember the horror films that brought shivers to the audience), her supporting actor is that of David Cameron, who was wrong to grant an EU referendum without informing us of all the ramifications of a dejection from the EU. Instead Brexiteers, including a large swathe of Tory MP’s, pursued a campaign based on lies and xenophobia.

Brexiteers told us that £350 million will be saved and ring-fenced to the NHS every week if Brexit happens; from the benefit of hindsight, blatant lies and typical Tory propaganda.

The UK has now become the laughing stock of the world. Many EU leaders are quite frankly fed up of Theresa May’s antics. The incredible cheek of the Tories now to lay blame on Jeremy Corbyn is beyond beggars’ belief.

Theresa May is now stuck. She only has 3 options – call for a new referendum, dissolve parliament and call for a general election, or resign as Prime Minister. However, it is evident she is spineless to do anything. She is worried what history books will write about her in years to come. This is a classic example of a Tory more concerned about their own career rather what is in the best interests of the country.

Jeremy Corbyn is absolutely right not to talk to her until no deal is taken off the table. It is clear that Theresa May has no intention of negotiating; all she is doing is running the clock down to 29th March to her own deal.

It’s amazing how all those people who tell us that Jeremy Corbyn is unelectable refuse to have another general election because they don’t want him as Prime Minister.

I strongly believe a General Election will take place at some stage this year.
