Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou launched easyJet nearly 30 years ago and has followed it up with dozens of further “easy” brands, many of the most successful, being within the travel industry. Greek startup Ferryhopper is an innovative online ferry booking platform selling tickets for all 160 ports in the Greek islands, with connections to Italy, Albania and Turkey. In just two years of operation, it has taken the Aegean sea by storm, establishing a significant presence in the Greek travel market.

Joining forces, Sir Stelios’ easyGroup and Ferryhopper are bringing easyFerry to the wide audience of ferry travellers in Europe. With ticket sales rapidly moving online, the time is right to be bringing the distinctive orange brand to a tried and tested booking engine. easyFerry will start with the same offer of ferry crossings in Greece and will be rapidly expanding to include all Mediterranean crossings, with a view to selling tickets for Channel and Baltic crossings.

The story of this exciting synergy started when the Ferryhopper team won Stelios Greek Awards for young entrepreneurs competition organized by Stelios Philanthropic Foundation. Sir Stelios immediately saw the potential of bringing Ferryhopper’s success to the markets who identify his characteristic orange colours.

“easyFerry will bring a traditional industry into the digital world, offering customers the easiest and most efficient way to hop across the seas ”.
