The 29th Cypriot Golf Society AGM was held at Hadley Wood Golf Club on 13th February 2019. Approximately 36 members turned up for the first unofficial golfing event of the year. The day was won by Alex Adams, who shot an impressive 40 points, and is in great form leading up to the annual holiday to Thailand in a few weeks time.

Thereafter, approximately 50 members attended the dinner and AGM. The Captain, Aggi Neophytou delivered his final speech and took the opportunity to collect some fines for the incoming Captain George Vavs Georgiou chosen charity….. Aggi thanked the members for supporting him throughout the year saying without the members, there would be no society. Aggi also warmly thanked the committee for all the hard work and guidance they provided during his captaincy year.

Aggi then thanked the members for their generous contributions to his chosen charity, Alzheimer’s Society. The society under Aggi’s captaincy raised the most amount in the history of the society, £6,200.00! An ambassador from Alzheimers Society, Piper Holdup, accepted the cheque presented by Aggi, thanked the members and gave an informative talk about the role Alzheimers Society plays in the care for those affected by dementia, and their carers and families, and how the money would be used. Aggi finished off by saying it was an honour to have served as the 28th Captain of the society and wished the incoming Captain George Vavs Georgiou everything of the best for his captaincy.

A vote of thanks to the committee by the Player Of the Year, George Vavs Georgiou, was followed by reports from the committee members and the election of officers and committee members for 2019
