Sandridge Rovers FC 0 – 2 New Salamis FC

New Salamis picked up another 3 points on the road at Sandridge Rovers FC. The game should have been put to bed in the first 20 minutes for the Reds, such was their early dominance.

Tyler Campbell fired over from the edge of the six yard box, Christian Artimadis then had a shot blocked arriving in the penalty area. Harrison Georgiou was not to be denied though and put the Reds into the lead in the 10th minute. George Lutaaya sent in a deep cross to the far post and Harrison rose to thunder home a bullet header 1-0.

Salamina should have then gone 2-0 up but George Lutaaya put clean through was thwarted by a brave save from the Sandridge keeper. This woke Sandridge up and from a deep cross Bobby Smith made a fantastic save from a point blank header to keep it at 1-0.

The second half saw a more even game with both teams, cancelling each other out and not many chances. Deniz Mehmet and Kyri Portou were sent on from the bench. Both were to make a big impact. Deniz made a trademark run into the box and was brought down for a penalty. Kyri Portou picked up the ball and fired low into the corner for 2-0 to the Reds. Salamina saw out the final minutes comfortably Lee White and Marcus Rose both rocks at the back today.

Next week sees us travel to PFC Victoria in the Anagram Trophy Quarter Final.
