Twenty-year-old Greek tennis star Stefanos Tsitsipas is through to the fourth round of the Australian Open – the first Greek player ever to make it through to the fourth round of the grand slam.

He successfully beat his opponent Nikoloz Basilashvili from Georgia in two hours and 54 minutes, in a hard-fought four sets 6-3, 3-6, 7-6 (9-7), 6-4 at Margaret Court Arena.

It was a dramatic game however, with the youngster receiving two code violations for an outburst in the third set, before quickly regaining his composure.

Maria Sakkari didn’t have the same luck however.

Playing against local Ashleigh Barty, she lost the third round 7-5, 6-1.

The first set was particularly tight, as the two stayed toe-to-toe, creating break chances in the first two games.

Barty was first to break and the first to reach set point with a break chance at 5-4. Sakkari fought back, but the No.15 seed managed to seal the set two games later.

From then on, Barty dominated despite a medical time-out after the first set.
