New Salamis 5 – 0 Lopes Tavares

The reds made it into their second quarter final of the season following a 5-0 win over Lopes Tavares.

Lopes Tavares who play in the Thurlow Nunn Essex Senior League Division One at Step 6, came full of commitment and a great deal of technical ability.

Salamina went 1 -0 up from a Leon Fisher corner which was met by Ahmet Rifat with a thunderous header. Goal Two came courtesy of Deniz Mehmet, Leon Fisher found Ahmet, who slid a pass through the Tavares defence and Deniz cooly chipped the keeper.

Goal three just before half time came from Richard Georgiou, Leon Fisher again orchestrating things, finding Perry Price on the left wing whose whipped in cross, found Georgiou advancing and rounding the keeper.

Half time 3-0.

The second half again saw Leon Fisher creating. His whipped in free kick found Richard Georgiou who bundled the ball home at the far post. 4-0.

Goal number five came from Dean Fenton, following up a cross from Perry Price for 5-0.

A masterclass of passing today by Leon Fisher, who had a hand in four goals.
