The big Nicosia derby between Omonia and Apoel stood out this weekend Omonia took the lead in the 25th with a goal from Gomez and in the space of a minute in the 67th minute Apoel scored an equaliser and a winner with both goals coming from Al Tammari.

The game did not have its usual lively atmosphere with a rare almost empty stadium. It looks like ID card is taking its toll.

New Salamis had a goalless draw with Enosis Neon Paralimniou.
Anorthosis drew with Pafos 2-2.

while on Monday there will be another huge game between Cyprus’ two teams that were knocked out of the Europa League, Apollon and AEK.

Leaders AEL faced a tricky match against Doxa Katokopias but won 4-3 Hurado had given AEL an early lead but this lasted just a few minutes as Carlos equalised in the 12th minute for Doxa.

There were no more goals until just after the hour mark when Hadivassilis gave Doxa the lead but two goals by Makris and one by Lafrance in the space of just six minutes gave league leaders AEL the lead. Doxa pulled one back with Mitrea but it wasnt enough and AEL went onto lwin 4-3.

while Ermis lost to Alki Oroklini 4-2 the two teams in the bottom two places, clashed in Larnaca. The goals coming from Spojaric, Stavrou, Belameri and Coelho for Alki Oroklini and for Ermis Aradippou, Talaridis and Katsiadi. Five of the goals were scored in the first half in fact Ermis took the lead in the seventh minute but failed to hold it.

In the other games Anorthosis took on Pafos FC  the Anorthosis’ revival came to a halt against Pafos FC as they could only manage a 2-2 draw.

Pafos FC took the lead after Schildenfeld scored an own goal but Katcharava levelled the score in the 23rd minute and Anorthosis took the lead after Pafos FC’s Aleksandr Dovbnya scored the second  own goal of the match. Nemec equalised midway into the second half for Pafos.

Nea Salamina drew in a goalless game at home to Enosis Neon Paralimni.

The final game of the round took place on Monday night in Limassol  turned out to be a six goal thriller, with Apollon drawing 3-3 with AEK.

Apollon goals coming from  Maglica 2 and Papoulis for AEK the goals came from Catala, Yiannou and Truyols.
