Two people have today, 9 November, been arrested as part of an investigation by the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command.

Officers arrested a 57-year-old man [A] and a 20-year-old woman [B] at an address in north London.

The man [A] was arrested on suspicion of the commission, preparation and instigation of terrorist acts contrary to section 5 of the Terrorism Act (TACT) 2006. The woman [B] was arrested on suspicion of possessing money or property for the purposes of terrorism contrary to section 16 TACT, 2000.

Both were detained under PACE and taken to a south London police station where they currently remain in police custody.

Officers are carrying out a search at the address in north London and are also searching an address in Luton.

Enquiries continue.
