Nea Salamis Famagusta held a 70th anniversary event last Thursday 22nd of November 2018 at the Cypriot Community Centre in Wood Green where Nea Salamina supporters and friends gathered for this historical event to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the club’s establishment (1948 – 2018).

Present for the event were Nea Salamina representatives from Cyprus the Chairman Thoukis Thoukididis,Vice Chairman Yiannos Chrysostomou and General Director Constantinos Panayiotou and Bambos Stylianou the editor of the book on the 70 years history of Nea Salamina who then spoke about the book and gave a synopsis of it.

Both the Chairmen of Nea Salamina and New Salamis London Thoukis Thoukididis and Michalakis Michael welcomed the guests from London and Cyprus.

At the event London Cypriots were honoured three ex players who played in Cyprus for them for several years  Varnavas Christofi and Michael Orphanides and the late George Avedissian whose daughter Jetta Avedissian collected the award.

And Cypriots in London who organised and helped form New Salamis in London, were also honoured namely the late Andreas Spyrou, whose son Chris Spyrou collected the award and the late  Socrates Stavrou whose brother Costas Stavrou collected the award. Also Odysseas Antoniou and Michael Yiapatos.

Also honoured were financial supporters of Nea Salamis Marios Stylianou, Andy Mavrou and Costas Spyrou and finally Kyriacos Spyrris collected an Award on behalf of New Salamis London for their support to their brother team Nea Salamina Famagusta.
