The United Kingdom Thalassaemia Society celebrated the 40th anniversary as a registered charity with a series of events during 2018. Two major patients’ conferences were held in March and April in London and Leeds and a grand Gala and Awards Ceremony was hosted at the London Hilton on Park Lane Hotel on the 6th October 2018.

The awards were presented to various recipients ranging from patient and parent advocates, past presidents, fund raisers, nursing staff, medical doctors and scientists.
