It is inconceivable and unacceptable for the government to refer to the US authorities about press reports on the operation of a secret American helicopter base in Cyprus.

The government should have raised questions if and whether such a base did operate in Cyprus.

If such a base did operate in Cyprus, either unknowingly or without the permission of the authorities of the Republic of Cyprus or with the knowledge of the government, then there is an issue to be raised.
