The government of Cyprus has no comment on media reports, which say that the US government maintained a helicopter base on the island between 2013 to 2017.

Invited to comment on the ABC report, Government Spokesman Prodromos Prodromou said that “in relation to the report about a helicopter base in Cyprus, the government of the Republic has no comment. Questions should be addressed to the US authorities.”

ABC has reported that the State Department has spent almost 70 mln dollars on a helicopter base in Cyprus, which operated from 2013 until August 2017.
