On Tuesday, 28 August at approximately 17:05hrs, police were called to reports of a pedestrian and cyclist in collision on Kingsland High Street, E8.

The pedestrian, a 56-year-old woman, collided with the cyclist who was riding an electric-assisted pedal cycle, as she attempted to cross the road.

Officers attended along with the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance.

The woman was taken to hospital where she sadly died. She has been named as Sakine Cihan who was from Dalston.

Her next-of-kin have been informed.

A man has been arrested by detectives from the Roads and Transport Policing Command in connection with the investigation. He has been released under investigation.
