What else can be said about this team. They exceed our expectations every week. Every week they become stronger. More together.
In the FA Vase Second Qualifying Round, The Saints hosted Long Bucky FC from Northampton on a beautiful September afternoon.  Such has been their momentum that key sponsor of St Panteleimon, Roger Black, from Blacksmith, came to see the Saints in action.  He wasn’t disappointed.
St Panteleimon played their passing, measures football, attacking on the wings and using their shape well.
Nick Salapatas opened the scoring after only 8 minutes with a blistering finish after a fast side step.
Ayub Albadri added a second after 22 minutes.  The Saints played their normal passing game, being solid at the back.
Some skillful interplay by the visitors saw them get one back to make it 2-1 and put the Saints under some pressure.
Albadri proved too fast and too skillful, as he added his second and the Saints’ third, just before half time.  Making in 3-1.
The second half saw an onslaught from the home side, with attack after attack. The Saints hit the bar twice, and the post and the Long Buckby keeper played a great game also, pulling off some fantastic saves.  The Saints’s forward thins were irresistible. Their passing was slick but the finishes were not always there.  It could have been 6 or 7-1.
Then towards the end of the game, Albadri became a hat-trick hero to make it 4-1 with an angled drive, leaving the keeper no chance.
The Saints progress to the First Round proper of the FA Vase.  They are in dreamland. A huge achievement for such a new Club. Once again, the name of St Panteleimon travels far and wide, as they await the name of their next opponents in this historic competition.
One thing is for sure, this team is firing on all cylinders, and they are playing for each other.  Such a good thing to see, so early on in the season.
