Members of NEPOMAK UK will be walking the 3 tallest mountains in Wales in just 24 hours on 29 September to raise money and awareness for two meaningful charities that support the Cypriot Community. The Thalassemia International Federation and the Wood Green Cypriot Community Centre are special charities for our community and have contributed so much to benefit UK Cypriots over the last few decades.

Members of the committee and secretariat will be completing what is known as the Welsh Three Peaks Challenge, it’s an intensive hike where participants have to walk 17 miles and ascend more than 7600 feet, conquering Mount Snowdon, Cadair Idris and Pen y Fan in Wales in 24 hours. For perspective, the total ascent on this climb would be higher than climbing from sea level to Mount Olympus – the tallest peak of the Troodos Mountains in Cyprus!

The walkers have set a target of raising £1500 to be split equally between the Thalassemia International Federation and the Wood Green Cypriot Community Centre. Both these charities are in need of financial support and do fantastic work for the Cypriot Community. You can help NEPOMAK UK meet its target by donating via their justgiving page: https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/welshthreepeakstifwcc or by following links on the NEPOMAK.uk Facebook page. If you’d like to donate but can’t use this link then please feel free to email us at [email protected]

NEPOMAK UK will be holding a fundraising launch event and welcome members of the public to join them for refreshments at 7pm on Thursday 20 September 2018 at the Cypriot Community Centre in Wood Green (Earlham Grove, London N22 5HJ). The event will help raise awareness of the excellent work of the Thalassemia International Federation, the Cypriot Community Centre and also provide an opportunity for those interested to engage with NEPOMAK UK about the work the voluntary organisation does.
