Detectives investigating the theft of a watch, believed to be worth approximately £60,000, are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information to contact police.

Police were called at 19:15hrs on Wednesday, 22 August to reports of a person being robbed by three men armed with knives on Palmerston Road, NW6.

The victim, a 46-year-old man, told officers he had his watch – a silver Patek Philippe with a blue dial – stolen.

He also told officers that he attempted to fight off his attackers before being stabbed in the knee. The three men then took his watch and fled on a moped.

Detective Constable Jess Bannister, from Central North CID, said: “This was a violent robbery and it is only by sheer luck that the victim did not suffer any long-lasting injuries; however it is still totally unacceptable that three men armed themselves with knives and went to take something that does not belong to them.

“We are appealing for anyone who may have recently bought a watch fitting the description of the one stolen to call police so that it can be returned to its rightful owner.”

The watch has many scratches and the only thing that is new is one strap link. It also has one noticeable scratch on the glass.

Anyone with information is asked to call Camden and Islington CID on 020 8345 0298 or to remain anonymous, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or contact them via crimestoppers-uk.org
