First Division

Apoel beat Asha in a very close game but the experienced team won the game in the final 2 minutes

Asha went ahead through Chris Spyrou in the 10th minute and Apoel equalised on 20 minutes when Alex Michaelides went round the keeper to score.

In the second half Asha went ahead again in the 55th minute with Chris Spyrou again with a great shot from the edge of tyre box, only for Apoel to come back again in the 66th minute when Alex Roussos scored from a scramble.

Then in the dying minutes Chambi scored the winner with a shot inside the box.

Asha are getting a good taste of this division but hopefully soon they will get it right.

An exciting game with both sides looking for their first win after a goalless first half the game ended 1-1. Omonia took the lead with a goal from Jordan Downes. Olympia equalised with Justin Zacharia but had hit the woodwork twice.

Second Division

New team to Kopa, Akanthou surprised Cinar with their energy but they lost 8-3 Akanthou  took the lead on 9 minutes, breaking away to make it 1-0 with a goal from Joe Attipa .  Their lead lasted 18 minutes, Leon Wilson spraying a delightful pass to Omer, whose thunderbolt of a shot made it 1-1. Theo Shoukri restored Akanthou’s lead on 35 minutes breaking away to shoot for 2-1. 7 minutes later Theo Shoukri increased the lead to 3-1 heading a free kick unchallenged. Right on the stroke of half time, a long ball from the defence found Leon who then found Zaine in the box to pull one back for Cinar 2-3.

The second half produced a delightful show of ultimate football as Cinar Introduced Cullen French who single handedly changed the game. Zaine equalised in the 50th minute after some neat passing, 3-3.  2 minutes later Leon pass over the Akanthou defence was perfect for Zaine, who ran on to make it 3-4. In the 67th minute, Mehmet spread a pass to danger man Zaine who shrugged off the defenders to score Cinar’s fifth.  5 minutes later Cullen French turned the defender and produced an unstoppable shot from 30 yards to make it 3-6. Akanthou heads were now dropping  and 2 minutes later Omer’s persistent run down the left wing then found Cullen wno calmly shot for 3-7. The goal of the game in the 77th minute from the irrestible Cullen French who from a very acute angle produced an amazing shot for his second half hatrick and Cinar’s 8th.

Armenians played their first league game since re-joining the KOPA league against KLN at Enfield Playing Fields. But unfortunately lost 3-2.

AYA made a good start and took the lead through their striker Adi Mafdei, making his debut for the club. This woke KLN up and from then on they took control of the half. Dillon played a quick one two with Zack then finished smartly inside the box to make it 1-1. Dillon then returned the favour and set up Zack who curled in from 16 yards out past the Armenian goalkeeper. Dillon then got his second to make it 3-1. And although Adi was able to reduce the deficit before half-time, they went into the break trailing 3-2 and that’s how it finished.

KLN two wins on the trot and six points will they maintain the momentum. KLN now share the second division top spot with Cinar.

Pantel were quick off the mark scoring with Damian Spyrou within five minutes and wiining their game versus Panathinaikos 4-2 . Panathinaikos were really pressing for a goal but their finishing was really poor but then went two down to a Marlin Martin penalty.

In the second half Panathinaikos reduced the score to 2-1 Alex Ktori but Pantel increased their lead to 4-1 with goals from George Costa and Ashlee Kissiedu. Alex Ktori scored another for Panathinaikos  to finally make it 4-2.
