A great win for Cyprus beating Slovenia at home in the GSP stadium in the UEFA Nations League game what made it more exceptional was the fact that they fought back from 1-0 down in the 54th minute to a Beric goal. Cyprus equalised in the 69th minute with a Pieros Soteriou goal.

The winning goal for Cyprus came in the last minute from an own goal from Stojanovic.

This was Cyprus first points in the competition giving them three points from the competition after two games the first match they lost away to Norway  2-0.

Cyprus are third in their group standings of four nations below Norway who also have three points and Bulgaria with six points on top,  bottom of the group on zero points is Slovenia.

The Cyprus national team included UK Cypriot Southend player Jason Demetriou and  two Cypriots Nicos Ioannou and George Efrem who use to play for Manchester United and Arsenal Youth teams.
