Police have released an image of a man they wish to speak to in connection with a theft in Islington.

The suspect is described as a man aged in his 20s with short black hair.

He allegedly approached a large Siberian Forest ginger cat, called Mr Muk, in Petherton road, N5 before picking him up and making off.

Police received a report of a cat stolen from outside a residential address on Monday, 30 July.

The suspect and the cat were last seen at Canonbury Station between at 2030-2100hrs- the suspect has then boarded a London Overground train with the animal.

The victim has been left very upset following this theft and officers are appealing for information on the suspect’s identity.

PC Jade Woodley from Central North said: “Theft is theft and taking someone’s pet because you like the look of them or consider them high value is a criminal offence. Call us if you recognise the man in the image who is wanted for questioning.”
