Detectives investigating the murder of a man whose body was found at an address in Enfield have confirmed his identity.

Acting on information received, officers attended the residential address in Hartmoor Mews, Enfield, at about 14:00hrs on Monday, 27 August.

The body of a man was found within the loft of the premises. His next of kin have been informed.

He has been formally identified as Abdi Ali, 18, of Ostell Crescent, Enfield.

A post-mortem examination took place today (Friday, 31 August) at Haringey Mortuary and gave cause of death as blunt force trauma to the head and stab wounds to the chest.

The murder is being investigated by the Homicide and Major Crime Command. Anyone with information that could assist the investigation is asked to contact the incident room on 020 8345 3865 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

A 36-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman have been charged with Abdi’s murder, perverting the course of justice and preventing the lawful and decent burial of a body.

Both appeared at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 30 August and were remanded in custody ahead of further court appearances.

Abdi was reported missing to police on 31 December 2017. He was last seen at home by his family on 11 December 2017, following a family wedding.

Police in Enfield investigated his disappearance.
