On the expiry of his term in Slovakia, Ambassador of Cyprus Nearchos Palas was received last Friday, at a farewell meeting, by the State Secretary of the Foreign Affairs of the country Lukáš Parízek, and both reaffirmed the excellent bilateral ties.

During their meeting, according to an official press release, they discussed bilateral relations and reaffirmed the excellent relations maintained by the two countries at all levels.

The Cypriot Ambassador thanked the Slovak State Secretary for the participation of Slovakia in the UN Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus and the important role of the Slovak Embassy in Nicosia in relation to the bi-communal dialogue between the Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot political parties.

At the meeting, Parízek awarded to Pala the honorary distinction of the “Golden Metal of the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Miroslav Lajčák “, for his contribution to the strengthening of bilateral relations between the two countries.
