The SME Hertfordshire Business Awards were held on Thursday 26 July 2018 at Tewin Bury Farm Hotel.

The Leader of the Council, Councillor Mark Mills-Bishop and Chief Executive, Jeff Stack, were in attendance. The Leader was pleased to present the Council-sponsored award, Community Business of the Year, to Aubrey Park Hotel, Redbourn. The runners up for this award were Golden Giving.
Over 250 people, including award nominees and representatives from businesses from across Hertfordshire attended. Presentations shown on the night covered 20 award categories including the Business of the Year award which went to Brig-Ayd Controls, a producer of wheelchair and scooter hoists. Hoddesdon’s own Ashbourne Insurance claimed the Best Customer Service award.
To win the Community Business of the Year award Aubrey Park Hotel had to demonstrate how it gives back to the community, Councillor Mark Mills-Bishop said: “Aubrey Park Hotel has displayed genuine passion for the community, which is evident in its support for local charities, and initiatives conducive to business growth such as networking events and its commitment to solidifying relationships with local venues”.
Winning businesses will now be entered into the SME National Business Awards final taking place on 7 December 2018 at Wembley Stadium. The winners and runners up come from a wide range of industries, highlighting a great level of diversity and business excellence throughout Hertfordshire.
