Police were called to Westpole Avenue, Cockfosters at 22:41hrs on Saturday, 4 August following reports of a collision.

Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and found a 38-year-old woman seriously injured following a collision with a car, a white Mercedes.

She was taken to an east London hospital where she remains in a critical condition.

Her next-of-kin have now been informed.

The car involved in the collision made off from the scene.

Efforts to trace the vehicle and driver are ongoing.

No arrests have been made. Enquiries continue.

Officers from the Met’s Roads and Transport Policing Command (RTPC) are leading the investigation, and are appealing for witnesses to come forward; in particular, pedestrian eye-witnesses and motorists who may have dash-cam footage.

Detective Sergeant John Woods is leading the investigation. He said: “We are doing everything we can to trace the vehicle involved, this young woman had just left a concert in Trent Park and was walking on route to meet her father who was picking her up, when the car collided with her. I would urge the driver concerned to contact police or hand himself in at the earliest opportunity.

“Equally anyone who has seen a white Mercedes with front offside damage (near the headlight area) please contact police as you may have vital information.”
