Detectives are appealing for information and witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision in Leyton.

Police were called by London Ambulance Service at 20:01hrs on Wednesday, 8 August to Lea Bridge Road junction with Argyl Way, E10 to a report of a road traffic collision between a male pedestrian and a bus.

Officers attended along with London Air Ambulance. The man, aged 21, was pronounced dead at the scene a short while later.

His next-of-kin have been informed.

The driver of the bus stopped at the scene and is assisting police with their enquiries. No arrests have been made.

Officers from the Met’s Roads and Transport Policing Command (RTPC) are leading the investigation, and are appealing for witnesses to come forward; in particular those who saw what took place and motorists who may have dash-cam footage.
