A man has been jailed for sexual historic sexual offences.

Lee Beaumont, 48 (21.10.69) of Holtwhites Hill, Enfield appeared at Wood Green Crown Court on Friday, 25 May and was sentenced to 15 years’ imprisonment after a jury convicted him on 20 March of eight counts of sexual assault and indecency against an 11-year-old child between 1986-1987.

The court heard how Beaumont had intercepted the child around three times per week as the victim walked to school in the Holt Whites Hill area of Enfield and sexually assaulted him.

The victim, a man now in his 40’s, had been empowered to come forward to police by the recent campaigns of victims reporting rape and sexual assault.

The investigating officer, Detective Constable Mark Levett of the Met’s Child Abuse, Exploitation and Sexual Offences Command said: “The effects of the assaults committed against this victim when he was just a boy have haunted him into adulthood. I hope that the knowledge that Beaumont will not be in contact with vulnerable youngsters for many years to come brings a measure of comfort to the victim.

“I urge anyone who has been a victim of sexual assault either recently or historically to come forward and speak with police.”

I am not convinced that the victim is the only person who may have been targeted by this defendant and would encourage anyone who has been a victim of sexual assault to contact police without delay.”
