Revenue from tourism rose to €52,7 mn in February 2018 compared to €46,6 mn in the corresponding month of the previous year, recording a significant increase of 13.1%, on the basis of the results of the Passenger Survey, published by the Statistical Service on Friday.

For the period of January – February 2018 revenue from tourism increased to €91,1 mn compared to €82,0 mn in the same period last year, recording an increase of 11.1%.

Cystat said that expenditure per person in February 2018 was down to €519,43 compared to €566,79 in the corresponding month of the previous year, a decrease of 8.4%.

The expenditure per person/per day for February 2018 compared to February 2017 also decreased by 15.4%.

An increase of 8.3% was recorded in the average length of stay, from 8.4 days in February 2017 to 9.1 days in February 2018.

The expenditure per person between January – February 2018 presented a drop of 9.2%, to €513,89 from €566,22 in the corresponding period of the previous year.

The expenditure per person/per day in the first two months of the year also decreased by 12.2%, to €56,47 from €64,34 in the same period last year.
