Detectives are appealing for information after a woman was critically injured, and has subsequently died from her injuries in a collision in Chingford.

Police were called at 03:00hrs on Monday, 7 May, to a collision in Station Road, E4.

Officers attended the location and established that a car had been in collision with a female pedestrian.

The woman, aged in her 30s was taken to hospital by LAS.

She died on 8 May. Her next-of-kin are aware, although formal identification is yet to take place.

The driver of the car – a Ford Focus – stopped at the scene. The 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He has since been released under investigation.
