New Salamis 5 FC Cortez 3

New Salamis won a record breaking sixth time the LFA Challenge Cup last Sunday beating South London team FC Cortez who had already defeated a  KOPA League  team Olympia in the quarter final.

New Salamis got off to a quick start with a free kick goal from Ala then Richard Georgiou scored their second goal with a shot from inside the box. Kyri Portou added a third then Just before the break to make it 3-1 FC Cortez scored.

The second half New Salamis quickly added a fourth with a penalty goal from Kyri Portou and it was not long before Charlie added the fifth when left on his own he lobbed the keeper inside the box.

But then a late flurry came from FC Cortez and in no time reduced the score to 5-3 and they built up in confidence but it came too late.

Since year 2,008 New Salamis have won the top London Sunday Cup the LFA Challenge Cup a record six times.
