 Danny Andre, businessman and brother of singer/TV personality Peter Andre, has teamed up with his wife, actress and model Sunny Andrea, to create the luxury, bespoke home décor brand, S&D London.

The couple have always had a love for quality aromas that pleasured their senses, but never really found that one product to fully satisfy. This lead them to join forces with a leading home fragrance manufacturer to create a luxurious collection of beautiful, high fragranced scented candles and diffusers, perfect for any home or occasion.

The multi-cultural mix of Greek Cypriot meets Indian is infused into the brand’s stylish logo and range of scents that cater ‘Not just for Him, Not just for Her’.

How and why was S&D London founded?

Danny and I founded S&D London due to our passion of lifestyle/home interiors and scents, where we wanted to really create a brand that combined our two cultures, quality, along with bespoke luxury scents and style which is affordable to all. Our products contain the very best ingredients and look, all rolled into a stylish high fragranced product.

Who did you work with to create the fragrances in the range?

A lot of effort has been put in and we have worked with a leading UK manufacturer to create a range of bespoke fragrances for him and her. The final outcome of the product is as you would expect from the leading brands currently in department stores, hotels and so on. Our products in terms of look and quality speak for themselves.

Tell us about the three main scents in the collection. How would you describe their aromas?

We have three wonderful scents:

HARI (candle in clear glass) is the charming fragrance that opens with fruity notes of tart blackcurrant, apple and sweet pineapple. A heart of juniper berries; woody birch and patchouli lie on a sensual base of vanilla, musk and oak moss. This has to be the perfect scent for pure relaxation.

MEDITERRANEAN ROSE (candle in gloss white / diffuser in matte white/matte black) contains notes of precious Oudh that are enveloped with luxurious Mediterranean rose petals, vetivert and raspberry. The warm seductive base of cedar wood and patchouli gives this classic favourite an exotic twist. Sit back and let yourself drift away to a Mediterranean paradise.

ATTAH OUD & BERGAMOT (candle in gloss black) our signature fragrance, is a divine blend of Indian sandalwood and Vietnamese agarwood enlivened by the passion of Italian bergamot, musk, frankincense and exotic Eastern attah oud.

Our scents are simply stunning; the ones you could quite possibly imagine wearing as an Eau De Toilette and have been created for both the male and female markets with scents to drift you across the world from East to West.

Are they available both as candles and diffusers?

Yes, we have the three scents all available as a candle and set in different stylish glass tumblers, and the one scent being the Mediterranean Rose which is also available as a diffuser but in two colours. Our diffusers are at a larger than average size, standing at 200mls, and have been created using top quality and high fragranced oils and perfumes.

What makes these candles different to others?

The quality of the ingredients we have used, the look and the aroma. The aromas are all long lasting and high fragranced. The candles are 30cl and they are all hand poured and manufactured in the UK. The wax is a mineral wax blend which achieves a long, clean and even burn, and the burn time is 40hrs approx. With the quality and the product as a whole, we give people a high end and luxury product without them having to pay a luxury price. Each item comes beautifully packaged in its own classy gift box.

It’s clear you have incorporated your Greek Cypriot and Indian origins in the actual product as well as the packaging. How important was this when creating the range?

Incorporating both our origins into the brand was very important to us as we are very proud of our heritage and our cultures. We wanted to bring a little of us into the brand and stand out from just the norm. Our logo is our initials surrounded by the Greek key and centred by the Spiritual Hindu Om symbol.

What has been the response since your website www.sanddlondon.co.uk went live?

Since we launched at the beginning of February, the response has been overwhelming; there has been a lot of interest and we’ve had some fabulous reviews from customers. Everyone has been very supportive and it’s nice to see our products out there and seeing people appreciate them!

We are also having an amazing response with companies wanting to stock our products nationally and internationally.

Candles are great gifts for any special occasion. With Mother’s Day approaching, which of your products would make an ideal gift? 

If you’re looking for the perfect gift for Mum this Mother’s Day or for a special occasion, the Mediterranean Rose candle or diffuser has to be the one! When creating this fragrance we fell in love with it right away as it just reminded us of the smell of the rose petals in Danny’s father’s village in Kyrenia. Precious Oud, enveloped with luxurious Mediterranean rose petals, vetivert and raspberry and the warm seductive base of cedar wood and patchouli, gives this classic favourite an exotic twist. The candle is set in a gloss white tumbler and the diffuser is set in either a matte white or matte black stylish pot, complete with 8 luxury reed sticks.

Do you plan to expand the collection with more fragrant candles and diffusers?

Yes! This is something we are currently in the process of and we can’t wait to hear what people think of our future scents. We also have other products we are planning to launch in the future which sees S&D London expand into hand washes and room spritzers. Our collection is great for the home, all occasions and most importantly, for both men and women.
