Firefighters freed two men from a vehicle after two cars collided on Seven Sisters Road in Finsbury Park last night.

The driver and passenger were trapped in the car by the nature of their injuries. Fire crews used cutting equipment and the men were placed on spinal boards and safely removed from the vehicle. They were both taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service crews.

The driver of the other car was not trapped and had minor injuries.

Station Manager Mike Cotton said:

“Excellent work by Islington, Stoke Newington and Holloway crews at what was a challenging road traffic collision. The way the firefighters planned, took care of the casualties and extricated them safely was all top draw.”

The Brigade was called at 2221 and the incident was over for fire crews at 2346. Firefighters from Holloway, Stoke Newington and Islington were at the scene.
