Beer deliveries from local breweries in Cyprus reached their peak since 2008, amounting to 39.4 million litres in 2017, according to data released by the Cyprus Statistical Service (Cystat).

Compared with 2016 total beer deliveries in 2017 rose by 5.15%, mainly due to the record in tourist arrivals which amounted in 3.55 million for the period of January – November 2017. This is the third consecutive annual increase in beer deliveries.

Beer deliveries for local consumption in 2017 amounted to 38.3 million litres, marking an increase of 4.8% year on year.

Beer exports in 2017 reached in peak in the last ten years with 1.10 million litres, marking an increase of 22.4% compared with 2016. Exports include provisions to ship and aircraft.

In December 2017 total beer deliveries amounted to 1.67 million litres compared with 1.91 million the previous month. Local beer consumption declined to 1.63 million from 1.81 million in November, whereas beer exports declined by 57% to 41,516 litres from 96,905 in November.
