Detectives investigating the murder of a 20-year-old man at a flat in Bartholomew Court, EC1 on New Years Day have made an arrest.

At around 2045hrs on Monday, 1 January a 19-year-old man was arrested in the Hackney area on suspicion of murder.

He has been taken to a north London police station where he currently remains.

A second 20-year-old man, who was also stabbed during the incident, was taken by London Ambulance Service to a north London hospital where he remains in a critical but stable condition.

Detectives from Islington, supported by the Homicide and major Crime Command, investigate.
