Detectives are appealing for information following the knife point robbery of a member of the public.

The offence took place on Wednesday, 3 January at around 18:00hrs when two males riding on a scooter snatched a mobile phone out of the hand of a 24-year-old man as he walked towards the Emirates Stadium on Hornsey Road.

When the man tried to get his phone back, one of the suspects brandished a knife at him before they both rode off along Hornsey Road.

No arrests have been made. Enquiries are ongoing.

Detective Inspector Thomas Kearney of the Central North Command Unit said:

“The Met is working hard to keep the public safe and make the streets and roads hostile territory for criminals, including those who steal scooters, mopeds, motorbikes and bicycles and use them in robberies and other similar offences.

“It is important that the public are aware of their surroundings at all times and protect their personal property, as these criminals can strike in an instant.

“Anyone who has any information about this or any other incident should contact police immediately on 101. Alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or you can tweet @MetCC with any information.”
