AEK who share top spot dropped two points as they failed to take advantage of their home fixture in a Larnaca local derby versus Ermis Aradippou with both teams not being able to score.
AEK could only manage a home draw against a battling Ermis Aradippou, with Anorthosis joining them at the top of the table after beating Aris.
Apollon and Apoel beat Olympiakos and Nea Salamina respectively while the two other weekend games, Doxa v AEL and Ethnikos v Omonia, ended in draws.
Anorthosis who share top spot left it late to beat second from bottom Aris both their goals coming in the last ten minutes through in the last ten minutes through Victor and Alves.
New Salamis gave Apoel a fright as the reds led 1-0 with a headed goal from Ruben Brigido in the 59th minute but somehow Apoel pulled it out of the bag and rescued themselves with two goals in the last two minutes of the match with a goal Gayas Zahid and an own goal for the winner.
Apollon are looking good for a top spot if they win their games in hand they made no mistake against Olympiakos and scored five goals coming from Hector Yuste, Fotios Papoulis and two from Emilio Zelaya and own goal.
Goals galore at the Ethnikos Achna versus Omonia ending in a four goal 2-2 draw. Ethnikos led twice with three goals coming in the the space of three minutes. Ethnikos Achnas goals came from Eduardo Pincelli and Andrei Anescu with Rafael Lopes and Demetri Christofi scoring for Omonia.
It was the first match for the new Omonia manager Ivaylo Petev who use to manage AEL , Dinamo Zagreb and the Bulgarian National team.
Doxa and AEL shared the points in a goalless draw in a game where AEL missed a penalty.
Fabricio Simoe scored two goals to give Alki Oroklini a 2-1 win over Pafos whose only goal came from Daniel Sikorski.
