The Cyprus team won 6th place at the European Cyber Security Challenge (ECSC) competition which took place between 31 October to 3 November in Malaga, Spain.

The competition was supported by ENISA, the European Union Agency for Network and Information Security and was organized and hosted by the Spanish National Cybersecurity Institute INCIBE.

A press release sent to the media on Friday by the Cyprus Computer Society (CCS) says that nine Cypriots took part in the team, aged 14-25. They were accompanied to Malaga by three adults. CCS organized the team with the support of the Office of Electronic Communications and Postal Regulations and the Cyprus Digital Champion.

More than 100 talents, to be exact 150 cyber-talents, from 15 countries participated in challenges such as security vulnerabilities in web applications, deciphering encrypted documents or gaining access to a protected system in order to prevent cybercriminals to be the first ones who find and access them.
