Cypriot residents` trips abroad increased by 4% in September 2017, compared to the same month of 2016, according to a report released Tuesday by the Statistical Service of Cyprus.

On the basis of the results of the Passengers Survey, 130.174 residents of Cyprus returned from a trip abroad in September 2017 compared to 125.190 in the corresponding month last year, recording an increase of 4%.

In September 2017 there was an increase of 22.1% on the trips of residents to the United Kingdom (from 17.453 in September 2016 to 21.315 in September 2017).

According to the data, 104.319 of the total trips were in EU countries and 13.281 in other European countries, while 9.247 in Asian countries. The American continent was the destination for 1.981 and especially the US.
